As part of its commitment to help businesses bridge the gap between greater IT demands and shrinking budgets, HP offers two integrated service support solutions alongside the ProLiant G6 server line, service options tailored to meet your business needs.

First, the HP ProLiant G6 server line comes with secure, remote support. Remote support can help keep your IT infrastructure humming, without adding staff. Also available are prepackaged consulting and service options. These credit-based packages let you apply outside expertise exactly where you need it, so you get the most from your ProLiant servers.

Build your own services plan

If you've ever bought a prepaid phone card, then you understand the basic idea behind HP Proactive Select. This innovative, yet simple, concept for consulting and service procurement operates on a credits system. Purchase blocks of credits in one approval cycle, spend them for on-demand consulting and services options as needed.

A la carte access to more than 85 different consulting and service options lets you tailor a service consulting plan to your exact needs. Choose from thermal assessments, virtualization capacity planning, storage array high availability assessments and more.

When business priorities change, you can change your point spending based on what you need now, not what you thought you would need when you bought the plan. You also have the option to purchase additional top up credits as needed.

Unlike the self-service models of most prepaid programs, however, Proactive Select customers receive personalized attention from their own HP Account Support Manager (ASM). A trained technical service specialist, your ASM works with you on the ground, analyzing your needs and helping you choose the most appropriate services. Whether you want to introduce service management best practice for your ProLiant G6 servers, tune performance or get the most from virtualization, your account support manager can help you.

With entry-level pricing starting at less than USD$10,000 for 30 points, small and midsize businesses can also take advantage of HP's consulting services..

Round-the-clock remote support

As you face rising demands and shrinking resources, keeping systems online and your business operating becomes more critical and more challenging.

Through HP Insight Remote Support, your G6 ProLiant Servers can be monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so problems are resolved faster, or prevented in the first place:
  • Onboard and remote diagnostics can identify potential problems before they strike and resolve current issues before they grow.
  • Automatic case submission automatically logs issues as they arise so HP technicians can try to clear them up remotely or dispatch parts or a technician, if needed —all without making a phone call to log a problem.
Best of all, HP Insight Remote Support is available at no extra cost as part of your HP warranty, HP Care Pack Service or contractual support agreement with HP.
