CBC combines an Apache-based web server with HP availability and management features including GlancePlus and OpenView for its end-to-end secure sockets layer (SSL) web serving.

CBC Manager of Technical Support, Denys Rouselle, notes: "HP is very responsive with respect to support. The HP-UX 11i support team has been especially helpful. It confirmed we made the right decision to rely on HP for this solution. Being a broadcast company, we need to deliver very rich media content over the web—the HP-UX 11i infrastructure has certainly given us this capability now and the flexibility needed for our future growth."

Reduce costs

Get the lowest cost of ownership with the highest level of assurance: Java and open source middleware is included and supported with HP-UX 11i.

Deploying the widely used AMP +Tomcat (Apache, MySQL, Perl/PHP plus Tomcat) web application environment on HP-UX 11i with Integrity blades provides the lowest combined three year hardware, software and support costs among the major operating system/blade platform combinations. Java, Apache, Tomcat, Perl and PHP are all included and supported with HP-UX 11i.  All components are supported by HP,  reducing your need  to integrate support from multiple suppliers.

The result: A typical AMP + Tomcat on blades deployment with HP-UX 11i  will cost 20% to 36% less than alternative fully supported UNIX or Linux blade solutions.  Further increase your ROI by taking advantage of HP-UX 11i  high availability, security, and virtualization features.
