Oracle Enterprise Manager P9000 Plug-In enables an integrated view of applications with P9000 and XP storage infrastructure enabling storage capacity analysis, host volume configuration, and device performance metrics. P9000 Plug-in provides P9000 and XP LUN association with database components and ASM disk groups, OS File System mount point association with the P9000 and XP LUNs, and storage allocation of the database. The P9000 Plug-in offers configuration, mapping, usage summary, and performance statistics reports for your Oracle application environment. These reports provide application to storage information upon which business application and database administrators to more effectively manage performance, configuration, and service levels.

Identify areas of performance optimization with performance statistic reports.
  • User selected database performance statistics report: provides consolidated performance statistics of the storage LUNs being used by the selected database, this helps DBAs to analyze the storage performance statistics such as I/O Per Sec, I/O Response time etc for a database.
  • User selected LUNs performance statistics report: provides the array Frontend (Host Port) performance statistics such as I/O Per Sec, Throughput.
    This is useful for the storage administrator to view entire array performance.
  • Ports performance statistics report provides the performance statistics of storage Ports being used by the LUNs configured to the hosts which are part of the enterprise manager, this helps DBAs to analyze the bottleneck on storage ports when multiple LUNs configured through the same array port.
  • Frontend performance statistics report: provides the array Frontend (Host Port) performance statistics such as I/O Per Sec, Throughput.
    This is useful for the storage administrator to view entire array performance.
  • Backend performance statistics report: Provides the array Backend (ACP) performance statistics such as I/O Per Sec, I/O Response time etc. This is useful for the storage administrator to view the backend array performance.
Map application to storage components
  • Storage device to database file mapping report: Helps storage administrator to explore the database components inside a storage LUN such as table spaces, data files etc and this helps storage administrator in contacting right DBA in case of an issue with the storage device.
  • Database file to storage device mapping report: Provides storage LUNs used for database components. This is useful to determine the performance of a storage device when a performance problem is determined from the database component.
  • ASM disk group to storage mapping report: Provides the mapping between the Automatic Storage Management (ASM) diskgroup and storage devices. This is useful to storage administrator/DBA to manage/maintain ASM diskgroup used by ASM database instances.
  • OS file system mount point to storage device mapping report: provides the mapping between the host OS file system mount points and storage devices (LUN) as well as storage utilization information. This helps DBA to track the used storage LUNs for OS file system mount point, also helps to analyze impact of the usage of data files from this system for the database.
  • Storage device to OS device mapping report: Provides the mapping between the storage devices (LUNs) and Host OS devices (Device files) as well as storage utilization information.This is useful for DBA in finding the OS device for presented LUNs.
Audit, inventory, and configuration management
  • Disk array configuration report: provides the disk array configuration information presented to the host.
  • LUN configuration report: provides LUN configuration information on LUNs configured to one or more hosts managed by the Oracle Enterprise Manager. This helps the DBA/storage administrator to have consolidated view of configured storage LUNs across Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Maximize database storage
  • Database usage summary report: Provides the space usage summary of databases hosted by supported storage LUNs.
