Your HP support contract entitles you to upgrade to the latest release of HP-UX 11i v3 at no additional cost. That includes upgrading from the original HP-UX 11i OEs to the new OEs for v3.

Upgrading to the new HP-UX 11i v3 OEs delivers up to 81% more software value, and up to 15% savings in OE support costs, in addition to the possibility of eliminating stand-alone software support costs.

If you are running an older release of HP-UX 11i, or if you have v3 original OEs (FOE, TCOE, EOE, MCOE), you'll see that – in all cases – you have just gained additional powerful software at no additional cost, and reduced support costs for your HP-UX 11i software. That includes upgrading from the original HP-UX 11i OEs to the new OEs for v3.

Base OE (BOE)

The Base OE includes everything that was in FOE and in the Technical OE, plus Auto Port Aggregator and Process Resource Manager, formerly available only as a stand-alone purchase. The C++ linking for Oracle EBS is new to HP-UX 11i.
