Cerner is a supplier of healthcare information technology (HIT), healthcare devices and related services. Organizations ranging from single-doctor practices, to hospitals, to corporations, to local regional and national government agencies use Cerner solutions. Cerner’s solutions and services are designed to help our clients make healthcare safer, more efficient, and of higher quality. Cerner’s solutions are offered as a service to the healthcare industry and Cerner has partnered with HP within Cerner Data Centers in Kansas City, Mo. and in Canada.
Key to success – and the HP/Cerner partnership – is Cerner Millennium ™, a comprehensive suite of solutions that promote personal and community health management by connecting consumers, clinicians and healthcare organizations into a streamlined, unified single care process. Cerner Millennium applications, running on HP platforms, are open, intelligent and scalable, allowing vital health information to be accessed and shared throughout the healthcare system.
All Cerner Millennium applications use an Oracle® database, which provides a common data model. Cerner Millennium applications run efficiently on a variety of networks, processors and operating systems, in a three-layer application model: Oracle database running on HP-UX as the bottom layer, with Cerner Application Server on HP-UX as the middle layer; the top layer is the user interface which runs on Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional and any Internet browser.
