HP Serviceguard for HP-UX 11i:
- Maintains continuous service availability
- Prevents revenue loss caused by downtime
- Maximizes post-failover performance and cost savings through integration with workload management, virtualization and utility pricing
What’s new
- With the Serviceguard A.11.20 March 2012 Patch C Release, we now offer improved uptime in virtualized environments with automatic Serviceguard
Fast Failover for Virtual Machines.
- Quickly deploy vPars/HP VM 6.1 guests in Serviceguard packages with the Serviceguard
Toolkit for Integrity Virtual Servers (IVS).
- Configure mission-critical applications using iSCSI shared storage on HP P4000 G2 SAN storage devices with HP Serviceguard. The addition of iSCSI, allows you to use lower cost storage solutions, and still enjoy Serviceguard
protection. It gives you the option and freedom to explore lower cost storage alternatives within highly available Serviceguard configurations.
- A new Serviceguard EnterpriseDB Toolkit has been added to the ECMT suite that allows you to provide mission-critical protection to EnterpriseDB Postgres Plus Advanced Server (PPAS). With this new toolkit, you can now choose the database that most fits your needs, whether it be Oracle DB, Sybase ASE, IBM DB2 or EnterpriseDB. Additionally, Serviceguard manager Easy Deployment, allows you to easily integrate EnterpriseDB into a Serviceguard cluster for rapid deployment of Serviceguard protection.
- Protect all SAP major databases with the addition to Serviceguard and SGeSAP support for Sybase ASE 15.7. You can now enjoy the freedom to choose any major SAP database you prefer and still have full HA protection from HP Serviceguard Solutions.

How it works
HP Serviceguard keeps critical services continually up and running.
It does that by moving services between servers on the fly, so quickly and so transparently that users may not even realize it happened. Serviceguard can move applications automatically, such as in response to a failure, or at your command, such as when your Network Administrator needs to bring a server down in order to install a new LAN adapter.
