Power Monitoring and Regulation for Integrity Entry-class and Server Blades
HP Integrity entry-class systems and server blades with Integrity iLO 2 provide single-server power monitoring and regulation through the iLO 2 web GUI.
Integrity iLO 2 Power Meter monitors 24 hours of power usage (Watts) and heat generation (Btu) data and displays this data as graphs showing peak, minimum, and average amounts. Power monitoring is provided independently of the server OS and works with all Intel Itanium processors.
Integrity iLO 2 Power Regulator lets users set the power savings mode of the server through the iLO GUI. Integrity power regulation is supported in Integrity servers with selected Intel® Itanium® 9100 series processors. For Integrity servers, power regulation works in cooperation with the OS and requires a "power aware" OS. Today, HP-UX 11i v3 Update 1 with hardware enablement patches is "power aware". Information on HP-UX updates can be found at http://www.hp.com/go/hpux11iv3
Integrity iLO 2 also supports HP's Insight Power Manager, a datacenter tool for centralized control of power consumption and thermal output of both ProLiant and Integrity servers. Integrity server management through IPM v1.3 is enabled with purchase of an Integrity iLO 2 Advanced Pack license and Insight Power Manager server license. This card should be used instead of other graphics cards such as A6869B. No Lights Out Advanced license key is needed. This PCI-X accessory card is supported only in Integrity cell-based sx2000 systems, Install one LOA/KVM card in each OS hard partition (nPar) where Lights Out Advanced features are required. Use the Integrity iLO 2 web GUI to access virtual media and remote console for each partition where an LOA/KVM card is installed. Try Integrity iLO 2 Advanced Pack for free |
