HP RTSC: Enhanced SAP solutions

HP Real Time Supply Chain (RTSC) integrates and enhances the capabilities of the following SAP applications:

• SAP NetWeaver
• SAP Business Warehouse (BW)
• SAP SCEM
• SAP XI

SAP Netweaver is enhanced by HP RTSC with an enterprise-wide operational data store:

• Providing data persistence (essential for bi-directional batch integration) – information has to be sent only once
• Decoupling the information sender from the information receiver
• Supporting synchronous and asynchronous integration
• Providing higher availability across multiple SAP and non-SAP applications

SAP NetWeaver integration capabilities are further enhanced via:

• Decoupling the information sender from the information receiver
• Improving the process environment availability through greater dependency on the process item alone, shortening latency
• Enabling single visibility to multiple ERP applications and with increased flexibility to add new applications due to abstraction and redundancy
• Joining multiple disjointed SAP instances real-time into a single database from a single point
• Linking across instances non-invasively to enable SAP xApps using a common parts and customer number facility

SAP Business Warehouse (BW) and HP RTSC enable:

• Collecting and consolidating of data to a single repository view, including data from legacy and non-SAP systems
• Cleansing data by resolving (“de-duplicate”) multiple views of the same item to a single view (e.g. part number, customer name) in real-time
• World-class reporting of online analytical processing (OLAP)

SAP SCEM, the event management component of SAP SCM and HP RTSC allow:

• Easing integration efforts where business processes are distributed across solution sets
• Accelerating the use of integrated data across multiple enterprise solutions (e.g. SAP BW)
• Deploying supply chain exception events that might not be encapsulated in a transaction (e.g. exceptions stated in global inventory thresholds)

SAP XI is a framework that can transform SAP business objects (intermediate documents (iDocs) and other SAP-specific message formats) into a XML format suitable for processing.  The HP RTSC solution supports SAP NetWeaver adapters using SAP XI.  On the outbound side, the HP RTSC adapter can use metadata mapping to return updates of records to which the SAP application has subscribed.
