HP’s low cost Fiber Attached Technology Adapted (FATA) disk drives are designed to protect your investment in the Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA) family of products. The HP StorageWorks Replication and Snapclone of Oracle with FATA Drives solution demonstrates the ability and efficiency of FATA drives to be used as a medium for replicating data, as compared to fibre drives, in local and remote scenarios.
Local Replication: SnapClones are created using various combinations of disk drive types and procedures. This includes fibre to fibre copies, fibre to FATA copies, copies via Command View EVA, and copies via Data Protector integration.
Remote Replication: The remote replication tests reveal the ability of FATA drives to be a low-cost, high performing solution for remote replication. The production site, EVA5000 housing Fibre drives, replicates to FATA drives within a remote EVA5000 over a 10km distance via Continuous Access EVA.
