The High-speed Oracle Backup and Restore solution enhances backup and recovery of Oracle databases on the HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Arrays. Very high backup and restore rates can be achieved if best practices are applied to the storage node and storage systems. A backup rate of less than 1 TB/hour and a restore rate of .80 TB/hour are demonstrated.
The solution provides detailed best practice recommendations for a Tru64 UNIX environment, which have been tested and verified in a Proof of Concept, to deliver high-performance Oracle backup and restore of SAP data.
