PolyServe Matrix Server on HP ProLiant solution is a highly available, scalable, and resilient cluster file system for Linux or Windows. The solution allows servers attached to a SAN to read and write data concurrently with full data coherency. Matrix Server includes PolyServes proven high availability software that monitors application and hardware health and provides automated failover to ensure high system and application availability and reliability.
PolyServe Matrix Server on ProLiant includes a fully distributed, fully journaled cluster file system that supports online additions and deletions of nodes. PolyServe Matrix Server is based on several distributed computing breakthroughs, including a completely symmetric, distributed lock manager, no master/slave relationships among servers, and innovative, distributed metadata management, which avoids the single-server bottleneck on file operations. Matrix Server is not designed to be a bootable file system; instead it provides a shared file system across the cluster.

PolyServe Matrix Server is shared data clustering software that enables applications to be scaled out across a cluster of ProLiant servers. PolyServe Matrix Server is available on Linux and Windows and requires the presences of a Storage Area Network (SAN), like the HP Modular Smart Array (MSA1000).

PolyServe Matrix HA
PolyServe Matrix HA (MxHA) is high availability clustering software that guarantees system and application uptime. By automatically monitoring the health of applications, server hardware, storage subsystem, and network connections, the software increases availability of applications while reducing the complexity and cost of managing both the servers and the applications themselves. MxHA enables N:N, N:M and N:1 failover configurations with an intuitive management console or a simple command line interface. Matrix HA allows administrators to build clusters of Linux and Windows in combination with direct attached, network attached (NAS), and SAN storage environments.
