PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 6, 2008 – HP today announced an agreement with Microsoft® that enables HP to sell Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Enterprise on mission-critical HP Integrity servers. Available today, the OEM SQL Server agreement enables HP to offer an end to end enterprise-class database solution. Customers who purchase SQL Server solution from HP benefit from a single point of delivery and accountability throughout their solution lifecycle.
Announced at the Microsoft Business Intelligence Conference, HP’s mission-critical SQL Server solution consists of HP Integrity servers, HP StorageWorks, software, services, Microsoft Windows Server and now SQL Server.

In addition to SQL Server 2008 Enterprise, the agreement enables HP to offer SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition (server + 5 CALs) and SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition per processor. U.S. prices for an entry level solution that includes the Integrity server, OEM SQL Server, and OEM Windows Server--- delivered from HP, is estimated at $8,700.
