Continuation of a New Era
Synergy 2008 was the first step in a three-year transition to transform Citrix’s hugely popular global iForum user conference into a broader and far more significant industry event. Continuing this transition, Synergy 2009 saw the first year Citrix combined their reseller and end user events into one sequential show. The Citrix events also combined Virtualization Congress and Networking World into a single contiguous event with a shared demo area and keynotes, but independent breakout tracks.

HP Wins Solution of the Year Award!
On May 3, at the Citrix Partner Summit event in Las Vegas, Citrix awarded HP with their Citrix Ready Solution of the Year Award, 2009. This annual Award recognizes and rewards the Citrix Ready Partner who best excels in delivering solutions complementary to Citrix and in driving adoption of Citrix access solutions. For HP, it was a comprehensive award covering Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop and XenServer products across HP servers, storage, desktops and printing solutions.
"Citrix is pleased to recognize HP as our Citrix Ready 2009 Solution of the Year Award winner. The alliance between HP and Citrix is based on a shared belief that by working together, we can help our customers centralize, virtualize and optimize their IT infrastructure using our joint virtualization and application delivery solutions. The strength of our 13 year alliance enables us to transform IT barriers into agile solutions that help our customers succeed in today’s challenging market,” said John Fanelli, VP of solutions and community marketing, Citrix Systems, Inc. "We look forward to HP’s continuing leadership as a valued member of our Citrix Ready program as we continue to grow our dedicated engineering, sales and marketing resources through 2009 and beyond."
HP takes a comprehensive approach to virtualization that encompasses all aspects of a customer’s environment – from virtualization of mission critical platforms to client infrastructure to management of their virtualized data center. HP’s Adaptive Infrastructure helps customers break down infrastructure barriers, improve access to applications and streamline IT operations management and client architectures.
“Customers have relied on the thirteen-year collaboration between HP and Citrix to provide them with application and virtualization solutions that reduce costs while helping accelerate the growth of their business. This is evidenced by the fact that more than half of Citrix XenApp installations run on HP hardware. Our work together includes close technical collaboration that encompasses HP’s hardware and software portfolios with Citrix’s application, server and desktop virtualization solutions. A great example of a unique offering from our collaboration is the HP editions of XenServer and XenDesktop when used with HP BladeSystem Matrix and HP Virtual Connect Flex-10. The combination allows customers to easily and dynamically move, allocate and reassign network connections in the XenServer virtualized environment. This addresses our customers need to maximize value from their IT investments, and allows them to feel confident that our technologies will work together as seamlessly as possible.” Paul Miller, VP, Enterprise, Storage & Services Marketing, HP
