HP EMS offers policy compliance, security, and manageability with minimal changes to the edge of the network and infrastructure with options for hosted or behind-the-firewall deployments. Its standard web application architecture provides scalability, resilience, and redundancy.

HP EMS supports deployments of various network topologies while remaining agnostic to connectivity with accessibility through any available https.

Below is a high-level overview of EMS deployed in a corporate network representing a typical lightweight deployment where EMS is securely accessible through corporate firewalls by using a reverse proxy to pass data between the DMZ and the secured HP EMS residing behind the firewall. For enterprises that prefer to use a mobile VPN, HP EMS is also accessible similar to other mobile applications using the VPN to secure the channel.

EMS can rapidly integrate into the existing network infrastructure using J2EE, SOAP/XML and SNMP interfaces. Its modular architecture can easily scale both horizontally and vertically to meet increased demand with minimal additional resources.

Below are the minimum recommended server and software requirements for a baseline EMS deployment.
