SMS2Voice enables short message service (SMS) messages that are sent by mobile phones to be received by traditional voice-only fixed-line phones or fax machines. When a mobile user sends a message to a non-mobile number, the network recognizes it automatically, and routes the call to the SMS2Voice platform, based on SpeechDesign's Thor system. The Thor system then calls the fixed-line number and reads the message to the called person in the language of the SMS, or it transits the text through fax SMS2Voice is deployed on OpenCall SS7, powered by HP servers, and integrated and support by HP Services.

Why HP?

  • The OpenCall SS7 platform provides proven reliability, scalability, and performance
  • HP delivers a proven and easily replicated, off-the-shelf solution, minimizing deployment risk and cost-deployable in weeks, generating a quick return on investment
  • Historically, SMS2Voice service generates up to one-to-two percent increase in message volume, resulting in increased revenue
  • The service extends popular SMS to traditional wire-line and fax communications
