Disaster Tolerant Solutions for HP-UX 11i

HP offers a comprehensive portfolio of disaster-tolerant solutions (DTS) to protect your data in the event of disaster or system failure.  All of the solutions build on HP’s foundation clustering software, HP Serviceguard, and run on HP Integrity and HP 9000 servers.  The portfolio includes HP Extended Distance Cluster, HP Metrocluster, and HP Continentalclusters.

While these solutions may differ in their specific components, their objective is the same: to protect users from site-wide outages. To achieve this goal, all these solutions utilize multiple data centers and multiple copies of users’ data so that if one data center fails, a second data center is available to continue processing.

Metrocluster for RAC is the latest addition to the capabilities of Metrocluster. Metrocluster for RAC gives you a lot of flexibility to suit your environmental needs.

3 data center support is an integrated solution of Serviceguard, Metrocluster Continuous Access XP, Continentalclusters and XP 3DC data replication. This solution offers cascading failover from Metrocluster to Continentalclusters. The Metroclusters failover within minutes and then can be cascaded to a continentalcluster failover as needed.
