Improving Pharmaceutical R&D Productivity using Information Insights

Pharmaceutical companies face a significant productivity challenge today. Underlying this challenge is the ability to make better decisions faster leveraging all the information that exists. Improving an organization’s ‘Return on Information’ can be a significant lever on improving R&D productivity. This talk will present a framework for understanding the challenges that exist today and also present an overview of emerging capabilities that will significantly enhance an organization’s abilities to harvest insights from existing information. An R&D example will be used to bring the ideas to life. The presentation will conclude with a view on the components needed to make the vision a reality.

The Emergence of Post-market Analytics for Post-market Surveillance

The Intelligent Health Enterprise: u-Severance Hospital project

Yonsei University Medical Centre (YUMC) recently opened a ubiquitous hospital system named u-SMART (Severance Medical-information Archiving and Retrieving Technology) with integration of CPOE/EMR/PACS/ERP in order to pursue a customercentric medical culture through advanced medical information systems to enhance patient care and service standards. This case study will discuss the issues and challenges faced when implementing such a system, including infrastructure development, HER integration, extending the knowledge base for research and clinical care and integrating it into clinical decision support.
