HP has continued to lead in worldwide Linux server market share since 1998 with the industry leading ProLiant and Integrity server families. HP leadership in the Linux marketplace is the result of a committed relationship between HP and our distribution partners that combines engineering expertise, world-class global support, joint selling opportunities, and a strong open source consulting focus. HP has extended this leadership experience to the Oracle domain delivering more published “Oracle Linux Validated Configurations” than Cisco, Dell, and IBM combined and integrated solutions that mitigate risk and accelerate time to production.
Oracle Linux and Oracle VM
Today customer support for Oracle Linux is available from Oracle Corporation. HP storage customers in Oracle Linux environments can acquire support via existing Oracle database and storage support processes. In addition HP works with Oracle to document optimal deployment of Linux on HP platforms through the Oracle Linux Validated Configurations program to facilitate easier, faster, and lower-cost deployment of Linux solutions. The program offers pre-tested, validated architectures—of software, hardware, storage, and network components—and documented best practices.
