The Globus Toolkit 2.x.x source bundles have been built and tested on Alpha systems running RedHat Linux 7.1 and on Itanium®-based systems running RedHat Linux 7.2.

The general considerations for running the Globus Toolkit 2.x.x on these Linux systems are as follows:

• Use the 64-bit flavored GCC builds (for example, gcc64) for both architectures.
