Overview
A key component of the HP Virtual Client Essentials software portfolio, SAM is a software management tool optimized for client virtualization solutions like Workstation Blades, PC Blades, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. SAM acts as the client virtualization control center by unifying the provisioning, management, and migration of desktop resources from one central administrative tool. SAM can manage the assignment of end-user connections to desktop sessions running on hardware in a datacenter via either Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) or HP Remote Graphics Software (RGS). SAM makes these sessions available to users as needed. SAM is logically delivered in three operational components:
SAM Client application running on a thin client or other access device
HP SAM Blade Service running on a computing resource (physical blade or virtual machine)
SAM Server and associated SQL database
