In order to facilitate customers migrating from RHEL x86 (32bit) platforms to the newer AMD64(R) and Intel EM64T(R) 64 bit platforms, Red Hat supports running x86 RHEL3 Update2 (32bit OS) and subsequent updates and erratas on these 64 bit platforms, subject to the individual boxes being certified on both 32 bit and the appropriate 64 bit platforms.
This policy statement does not change the scope of Red Hat's end-of-life policy with respect to any release or update nor does it imply full compatibility of application binaries compiled for a 32 bit environment but running on a 64 bit OS. This library compatibility issue is being worked as a separate issue and will be addressed in a separate statement.
