HP offers the Smart Setup Scripting Toolkits for Windows and Linux to simplify high volume server deployment. The Scripting Toolkits radically simplifies high volume server deployment by delivering a hands-off, unattended installation and configuration solution. Using Smart Setup technology, the Scripting Toolkits provide a flexible way to create standard server configuration scripts. These scripts are used to automate many of the manual steps in the server configuration process. This automated process cuts time from each server deployment, making it possible to deploy servers in rapid fashion.
The Scripting Toolkits includes a modular set of utilities and important documentation that describe how to apply these new tools to build an automated server deployment process. The Toolkits are designed to configure Integrity server hardware in an unattended fashion and is ready to integrate with a Windows or Linux OS unattended installation solution. The Toolkits are designed for the IT expert who is experienced in scripting hardware configuration and OS installations.

The Toolkit for Windows supports unattended installation of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition for 64-bit Itanium. The Toolkit for Linux supports unattended installation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 for Itanium, or SUSE Linux Enterpriser Server 9 for Itanium.

If using the Toolkit for remote installations, users must have experience with networking infrastructure such as PXE (Pre-boot eXecution Environment) Users who choose to use a Linux workstation for development must have experience with the BASH scripting language.
