This presentation will show the scaling and performance characterization of up to a 32-way Superdome with 16 EVA storage arrays. The scaling and performance numbers were achieved using Oracle 10g with customer-based applications. Results also include configuration tradeoffs; low-level IO performance; comparison of Oracle performance on file systems, LVM volumes, and ASM configurations; fault insertion tests; and brief results of Oracle's import/export and new data pump version of Oracle 10g. A demonstration of better than 6 GBs of IO from an Oracle query will be shown.
