Disaster tolerance to support communications and messaging is an important goal in today’s business environment. Since email communication has become a business-critical activity, providing users immediate and consistent access to Microsoft® Exchange environments is a critical goal. Additionally, the need to disperse clusters across distance is rapidly becoming the next generation of business criticality for Microsoft Exchange environments.
This solution provides guidelines and data points gathered from testing a disaster recovery solution from HP that meets this objective. Real-world techniques are provided to assist in appropriate deployment and migration to a geographically dispersed enterprise. The actual procedures provided will assist in the migration of static Microsoft Exchange environments to geographically dispersed environments utilizing Microsoft Majority Node Set clusters (MNS), HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Arrays (EVA), HP StorageWorks Continuous Access array-based synchronous data replication (DR), HP StorageWorks Replication Solutions Manager (RSM), and HP StorageWorks Cluster Extension EVA (CLX).
