HP Serviceguard Developers Toolbox Program

HP Serviceguard Developers Toolbox Program (SGDTP) is a framework to facilitate the quick and easy integration of an application with HP Serviceguard on HP-UX and/or Linux.  It is the same framework used by HP to create tools in the HP Enterprise Cluster Master Toolkit (ECMT) and Linux toolkit.

This toolbox contains a user's guide, a template that may be customized for your application to create a Serviceguard toolkit, and a test tool that may be used to help validate the toolkit in a Serviceguard environment.

The SGDTP enables the deployment of such popular applications as:

• For HP-UX: IBM DB2, BEA WLS, and VERITAS NetBackup
• For Linux:  SendMail, BEA WLS, Lotus Domino, IBM Informix, Sybase, NAS, IBM DB2, IBM WebSphere, and Squid

Enables quick integration of an application with HP Serviceguard on HP-UX and/or Linux, using the same framework as contained in both the HP Enterprise Cluster Master Toolkit and HP Serviceguard for Linux toolkit to:

• Reduce the impact resulting from upgrades to the operating environment
• Ease the migration between HP-UX and Linux Serviceguard environments
• Reduce the overall integration effort by minimizing repetitive tasks
• Separate general tasks from environment- and application-specific details, simplifying the identification of application-specific variables
• Reduce overall system management requirements, providing the same “look and feel” for every application integration
