AMBER is a package of molecular simulation programs, distributed and licensed by the University of California at San Francisco and used to model the 3-dimensional structure and interactions of proteins and nucleic acids. Details and features are described on the AMBER home page. This content is maintained by an active collaboration of developers.


Why HP?


HP Has consistently supported AMBER on its platforms as part of its commitment to Life and Materials Sciences research. As a result, HP offers excellent performance and price/performance for running AMBER on its range of platforms. AMBER runs on HP’s PA-RISC, AlphaServer, ProLiant and Integrity (Itanium) servers (HP-UX and Linux), plus clusters of these systems, as well as on HP’s xw series of Intel Pentium/Xeon and zx series of Intel® Itanium® workstations. Recent testing highlights AMBER performance on HP systems, scaling extremely well on the XC3000 system, HP's newest highly scalable, fully supported Linux cluster solution.
