How do busy customers evaluate the physical and logical security of computer products for their mission-critical applications? One way is to consult the lists of products validated by the Cryptographic Module Validation Program against FIPS 140-2 security requirements. Products with a FIPS 140-2 rating provide customers peace of mind that the cryptographic functions in their key applications are secure.
Previous generations of HP Atalla hardware security products such as the HP Atalla Ax100 NSP family of products were validated to FIPS 140-2 Level Three. Current products are undergoing validation to FIPS 140-2 Level Four, the highest current US and Canadian government hardware security standard.
The Atalla Cryptographic Subsystem (ACS) has been evaluated by an accredited third party and awaits final validation of a Level Four rating against the FIPS 140-2 testing from the U.S. and Canadian governments. Therefore the following HP and Atalla security products which depend on ACS for their physical security and key management meet the FIPS 140-2 Level Four validation:
- Atalla A10150 Network Security Processor
- Atalla A10150V Network Security Processor
- Atalla A9150 Network Security Processor
- Atalla A9150V Network Security Processor
- Atalla A8150 Network Security Processor
- Atalla A8150V Network Security Processor
