New HP NonStop Real-Time Process Monitoring (NonStop RPM) software supports optimal performance management by displaying real-time, color-encoded statistics and alerts about the busiest processors and processes in HP Integrity NonStop systems—either ¬by processor, by node, or across an entire cluster of HP Expand nodes.

Highly efficient, real-time statistics
NonStop RPM uses a highly efficient, linearly scalable algorithm to keep its processing overhead low. It requires neither Super.Super access nor HP Measure software to rapidly obtain real-time statistics. The software provides a continuously updated display of the busiest processors and processes in a variety of ways, including statistics for a single processor, for all processors in a node and/or segment, or for whole clusters of processors and nodes. It can run directly from a TACL prompt, providing virtually instantaneous startup and display of statistics. NonStop RPM is also run-time configurable, allowing a wide-range of interfaces and configurations.

Designed for massively parallel hardware arrays
Specifically engineered for the massively parallel architecture of NonStop servers, NonStop RPM supports clusters of Expand nodes to allow analysis of the busiest processes across very large collections of NonStop nodes and/or segments, making system performance management easier and more efficient.

Options are available for sorting, filtering, and color-encoding statistics in real time, including color highlighting for different device interfaces such as TTY, T6530, and VT100. It also supports “super-sized” 200x200 character VT100 devices that allow real-time display of massively parallel hardware arrays of hundreds of concurrently executing processors, nodes, and processes.

NonStop RPM monitors and analyzes both HP Open System Services (OSS) and NonStop Kernel (NSK) process paths and file names, displaying them together on a single screen to blend information about both NonStop server personalities. Critical, Warning, and Informative thresholds provide visually encoded alerts about the busiest processors and processes.
