Overview
HP, the market leader in HPC and Clusters, led the industry in offering standardized and supported cluster building blocks. HP Cluster Platforms capture best practices in terms of management, serviceability and efficiency, and support the latest technology ensuring the best price-performance. HP clusters can be managed by a broad range of cluster management options, both commercial and open source. In addition to HP developed tools, such as HP Cluster Management Utility, HP works with Platform Computing and ClusterCorp to enable qualification of cluster tools on our systems.

HP Cluster Management Utility (CMU)
HP CMU is an efficient and robust tool for the management of HPC clusters and compute farms. A simple graphic interface enables centralized console management, monitoring of cluster-wide and node-specific metrics, and software installation. Through its efficient cloning mechanism, CMU can quickly deploy target images across clusters with 1000s of nodes. With its CMU rapid provisioning and management of multiple images, CMU is ideal for a site with frequent changes to the software configuration across the cluster or on a subset of the cluster. Factory integration of CMU on HP Cluster Platforms is offered worldwide.

Platform HPC Workgroup Edition Non-HP site
This ‘all-in-one suite’ is a combination of a simple to deploy and manage cluster management solution from Platform Computing includes Platform Cluster Manager (PCM), Platform MPI, and Platform LSF Workgroup Edition, available for clusters of up to 32 nodes. PCM enables easy and rapid deployment and administration of an HPC cluster with choice of open source components, fully supported by Platform Computing and qualified on HP systems. Platform LSF Workgroup Edition is Platform’s sophisticated workload scheduler and resource manager. The solution is offered by HP in most countries, and is available from Platform resellers.

Platform Manager is also available on HP Cluster Platforms.

Clustercorp Rocks+ Non-HP site
Clustercorp offers the only licensed commercial solutions based on the popular Rocks cluster distribution. Rocks+ is a complete cluster software stack, including everything from the operating system to a modular applications level environment. Optional Rolls are available for range of popular cluster tools and enhanced functionality. ROCKs+ is offered by HP in many countries, and from industry resellers.

Windows

Microsoft Windows HPC Server (HPCS) 2008 is part of the Unified Cluster Portfolio, with support on HP ProLiant servers, HP BladeSystem, and HP Cluster Platforms. The combination of HPCS and HP enables users to smoothly expand their compute capability and easily tap into the power of clusters. Windows HPCS is designed specifically to make HPC clusters easier to create, integrate and operate within organizations. Windows HPC Server 2008 is available directly from HP and our resllers, and is a featured option for our Cluster Platforms. See the certification matrix for full list of supported ProLiant systems.
