HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share (HP SFS) solves the I/O bottleneck typically found on Linux clusters requiring scalable storage. Using SFS20 disk arrays, HP SFS provides industry-leading price/performance across many terabytes of highly reliable, high-bandwidth storage.

HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share (HP SFS) is a powerful file server that gives users of Linux clusters scalable storage that is easy to use and easy to administer. The HP StorageWorks SFS20 disk arrays, consisting of a large number of low-cost, off-the-shelf RAID arrays, deliver exceptional price/performance. HP SFS shares bandwidth by distributing files in parallel across Linux clusters of industry-standard server and storage components.

Industry-leading features

  • Scalable performance-The inherent parallelism of the StorageWorks SFS20 disk arrays means more bandwidth per dollar, scaling to over 35 GB/s aggregate bandwidth.
  • Scalable capacity-Capacity scales from 1 TB to 1024 TB, with higher capacities available on request.
  • Scalable resilience-HP SFS maintains resiliency while scaling by exploiting numerous transparent failover and recovery features.
  • Scalable simplicity-Applications see a single, POSIX compliant file system, making the HP SFS easy to use.
  • Flexible disk arrays-Options include the SFS20 RAID5, SFS20 RAID6, SFS20 RAID6+1, and EVA3000.
  • Flexible interconnects-A wide array of high-speed interconnects are available, supporting gigabit Ethernet, dual gigabit Ethernet, InfiniBand, Myrinet 2g, and Quadrics ELAN4.
Innovative HP SFS Technology
